Dog friendly museum
The Koper Regional Museum has been awarded the Dog-Friendly Museum label. The museum provides a space for canine friends to wait for their owners in the museum garden, where leashes can be tied. Food and water bowls are also available.
We ask owners to respect:
Code of conduct for dog owners:
- Only dogs accompanied by an adult who bought the ticket can enter.
- Only well behaved and obedient dogs can enter.
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times during the visit.
- The owner takes full responsibility for his pet, also in the case of damage to the inventory.
- In the event that a dog accidentally defecates in a museum, the owner must notify museum staff and arrange for cleanup.
- At the times of public events or larger groups of visitors the dogs are not welcomed. The museum is at full liberty to deny the entrance at special events or if other visitors of the museum express the demand.
- The entrance is forbidden for so called “dangerous” dogs. These are the dogs which are ill behaved or show aggressive behaviour towards people. (Official Gazette of the ZZZiv – UPB3, Article 5)
- Utility/service dogs can enter at all times, regardless of other circumstances.
To do’s before the visit:
- Please feed your dog.
- Please make sure that the dog has had a nice long walk.
- Please make sure that the dog has done his basic needs (pee and poo).
The Dog-Friendly Museum and Dog-Accessible Museum signs, with which Slovenian museums inform visitors about the possibility of visiting museums with their canine friends, were prepared by the Slovenian Museums Association and came into effect on International Museum Day, May 18, 2022.
